Uncharted Reach
Light the first signal from a region the charts have not named
Deep navy, nebula violet, ion cyan and civilisation gold form a stellar navigation chart opening towards the unknown.
01The story
Stellaris presents exploration as a chain of decisions: survey a strange planet, plant an outpost, meet an unknown civilisation, then decide where the border should be drawn. This theme takes no colours from a specific scene. It treats discovery as four visual relationships: deep navy is unmapped space, nebula violet is the light of distant bodies, ion cyan is instrumentation and communication, and civilisation gold appears only where contact has been established. The values are an original Theme Atlas reading of deep-space exploration, not official game colours.
02Where the colours come from
A deep-space blue-black carries the ground, violet gathers in panels and boundaries as the cast left by a nebula, bright cyan marks links, focus and data signals, and civilisation gold is held back for contact points and key states. Orbits, star points and communication pulses are abstract geometry; no in-game star map, icon or interface is reused.
03How the palette was built
Hierarchy in this dark theme relies on lightness rather than saturation: panel and ground stay close enough for long reading without becoming one luminous field. Cyan keeps the primary emphasis legible while gold is reserved for the small semantics of discovery. Body text, secondary text and the accent are checked against WCAG AA.
